The Writing into Fall Faculty/Staff Writing Retreat
Take one final day before the semester begins to invest in your scholarly writing. The Writing into Fall Faculty/Staff Writing Retreat is designed to help you maintain your summer writing momentum while developing a realistic plan for sustaining your writing throughout the fall semester. Enjoy dedicated writing time, guided writing exercises, goal setting and reflection, optional consultations, and a supportive community or writers. Lunch, snacks, and refreshments are included. Spaces are limited.

Inside Higher Ed (IHE) now available both on & off campus
The library institutional subscription to Inside Higher Ed is now available on or off campus. IHE is a news and analysis publication for the higher education community. Authenticated current 51ºÚÁÏÍø faculty, staff and students have full, unlimited access to IHE content. If you are having difficulty accessing unlimited content, start from the link on the library's Databases list. College Farm and Sustainability
Music Under the Stars at the College Farm
Friday, August 14th, will be the final event of this year's Summer Music Series featuring live music from The Benjamin Vo Blues Band (https://www.facebook.com/benjaminvomusic/). The menu will include two hardy kabobs, an organic farm-fresh fruit salad with greens, and hand-cut french-fries!
The food and fun begin at 6pm with live music from 7-9pm. Walking tours of the College Farm are offered at 5pm. Tickets must be purchased in advance! Registration closes at 12pm on the day prior to the concert. Tickets start at $32/person!

51ºÚÁÏÍø Faculty Jazz Ensemble and Ice Cream Social

Workday News August 2026 e-newsletter
The August 2026 edition of our Workday News monthly e-newsletter, your source for updates and insights about 51ºÚÁÏ꿉۪s transition to Workday, is now available online.
Our Workday project team continues to work tirelessly as we move closer to starting phase 2 - the Workday Student phase. The quieter summer months provided time to focus on finalizing some behind-the-scenes phase 1 details for HCM, Finance and Payroll processes. The fall 2026 Workday semi-annual update release (2026R2) is coming on September 19. More details about any upcoming changes will be shared in the September issue of Workday News.
Workday Student (Phase 2) kicks off during the month of September with discussions for the architecture and building process of the Workday Student tenant. The technical aspects of Student will impact processes related to admissions, financial aid, registrar's office, academic advising and more. Additional information will be shared in future Workday News issues as well as the Workday Project Website!
Workday Wednesdays resume during August as a casual, drop-in opportunity to ask questions, review processes, or build confidence using the system. The August (5, 12, 19) sessions will meet in HUB side room 202 from 9-11 a.m., and are open to anyone needing quick assistance or task support.
