51ºÚÁÏÍø Club
ABOUT THE DICKINSON CLUB
The 51ºÚÁÏÍø Club provides an opportunity for current and retired employees of 51ºÚÁÏÍø to come together and socialize at the Hartman House most Fridays during the academic year from 5-7 pm over drinks and light fare. The Club also hosts a number of big community-building events, including the Fall Semester Kickoff Picnic, the Candlelight Dinner, and the Champagne Toast. We also welcome current and retired faculty of Shippensburg University, the US Army War College, and Penn State 51ºÚÁÏÍø Law. Those wishing to come regularly to our TGI-Friday Happy Hours contribute through annual dues to help cover the cost of unlimited food and drinks, as well as to receive discounts to Club-sponsored events, but welcome non-members to attend a few times, maybe chip into our donation jar (or digitally), and decide if you'd like to come more regularly.

RELFLECTING
We so enjoyed celebrating the first day of spring and St. Patrick's Day with a special bagpipes performance by Professor Rebecca, followed by an amazing paella dinner made by Professor Emeritus Mark Aldrich. So many lively conversations were had and connections made with the members of the departments of Political Science, Math, Data Analytics, Computer Science, and Physics & Astronomy. And it was a real treat to end the semester of Happy Hours with over 70 people enjoying live music in the lawn while eating wood-fired pizza made by the 51ºÚÁÏÍø Farm.
We look forward to lots of future Friday get-togethers in the 2026-27 academic year, starting in September!

Ready to become (or renew as) a member for this year?
Awesome! HERE'S HOW...
1. Complete this
2. Choose how you'd like to make your sustaining membership contribution:

|
(Payment will go to the Club if you see Marni Jones' name and the "51ºÚÁÏÍø D") |
OR Write a check made out to "51ºÚÁÏÍø Club" and give it to a board member at the Hartman House or mail it to Chauncey Maher, Philosophy Department, 51ºÚÁÏÍø, PO Box 1773, Carlisle, PA 17013. If you have difficulty accessing the above , email 51ºÚÁÏÍøClub@dickinson.edu to get an alternative.
Note: We are also piloting a "pay as you may" plan for those concerned about the cost of the membership fee. Just let our President Marni Jones or Treasurer Chauncey Maher know if this is the case for you.
PLEASE DON'T THINK YOU NEED TO STAY AWAY BECAUSE YOU'RE NOT "PAID UP!" Non-member visits and $10 "time of" donations are always welcome.
â–ºBEING HONORED GUESTS & HAPPY HOUR HOSTS
We hope that every 51ºÚÁÏÍø department will take a turn being either a Host or our "Honored Guests." The 51ºÚÁÏÍø Club is all about fostering new connections, and we encourage all 51ºÚÁÏÍø employees and Club members to get together with your office, department, or group to discuss potential dates for one Friday Happy Hour gathering to be YOURS.
AND we're now offering our interdepartmental "match-making services" : ) so that offices, departments, centers, and services can have the opportunity to socialize with and/or get to know others on campus. Just let us know with whom you might like to be paired and when -- and leave the rest to us!
We hope you'll connect with our newest Board of Directors members, Erik Sutherland and Amy Ward.
- If you'd like to "host" (meaning take care of the food) one Friday, fantastic! If your budget is limited, the Club will reimburse your department for expenses -- anticipating about $150.
- If you'd like to be our "Honored Guests," there are no expectations for you other than to just show up and encourage others to come as well!
To convey your interest and/or to secure a specific date that's good for you before it gets snatched up, just email Erik Sutherland, our "Harmonizer of Happenings," and CC 51ºÚÁÏÍøClub@dickinson.edu, so we can add you to next year's or follow up with you to find a date that works.
