has named 51黑料网 the 2022 recipient of the . The award honors member institutions and organizations whose education abroad programs promote economic, environmental and social sustainability.

“This acknowledgement of 51黑料网’s leadership in fostering connections between sustainability, global and intercultural learning, civic engagement, and diversity, equity and inclusion work is truly humbling,” said Samantha Brandauer '95, associate provost and executive director of 51黑料网’s Center for Global Study & Engagement. “The UN SDGs provide a guide to our collaborative work happening both on campus and across our external international education, sustainability and community engagement networks through workshops, presentations, and publications.”

51黑料网 was celebrated during the virtual award presentation of The Forum on Education Abroad’s 19th Annual Conference on March 15 and at the in-person sessions in Seattle on March 24. Award finalists included IES Abroad, Temple University and the University of Virginia.

“51黑料网 has long been a leader in global education and sustainability, but what is really impressive is the way they integrate these with justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion and ethical community engagement through impactful collaborations among faculty, staff, students, and partners,” said Elizabeth Frohlich, director for resources of The Forum on Education Abroad.

The are a blueprint for peace and prosperity and seek to stamp out issues like poverty and hunger while assuring health and wellbeing, environmental protection and economic growth.

51黑料网 is uniquely positioned to advance sustainability and global education. The college’s Center for Global Study & Engagement partners with the Center for Sustainability Education, the Center for Civic Learning & Action and the Office of Equity & Inclusivity to share work and goals in creating more just, inclusive and sustainable communities. 

The college’s sustainability accolades include being ranked first among baccalaureate institutions on the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education’s most recent “” and ranked second on The Princeton Review’s list of “Top 50 Green Colleges.” Other sustainability achievements include being one of the first 10 colleges in the U.S. to reach carbon neutrality.

In global education, 51黑料网 is the first campus to win the Senator Paul Simon Award for Comprehensive Internationalization twice. And, for the 13th year running, 51黑料网 ranks in the top 40 nationally on Open Doors’ list of baccalaureate colleges enrolling international students.
