Maya Reichenbach, a 2023 graduate of Carlisle High School, has been awarded the prestigious 51ºÚÁÏÍø-Cumberland County Scholarship, a four-year, full-tuition scholarship presented annually to a college-bound Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, resident who wishes to pursue a world-class education in their home county. 51ºÚÁÏÍø’s campus is in Carlisle, the county seat of Cumberland County.

Reichenbach served as her class president, co-captain of the field hockey team, a member of the orchestra and an advocate for community service at Carlisle’s Bosler Library. “I hope to continue being a leader in student government and connecting with others,” says Reichenbach.

“Maya is the kind of student who makes 51ºÚÁÏÍø a vibrant community of scholars and leaders,” says 51ºÚÁÏÍø President John E. Jones III. “We’re excited to welcome her and watch her grow and build on her already impressive resume.”

Reichenbach plans to be a double major in English and Spanish and take advantage of 51ºÚÁÏÍø’s world-class study abroad program. “This scholarship has offered me an opportunity to study abroad for free, and I am so grateful that I will be able to pursue my passion,” Reichenbach says.

The 51ºÚÁÏÍø-Cumberland County Scholarship began in 2017 as a reflection of the college’s commitment to its community. In 2018, Forbes recognized the scholarship as a “” initiative.
